Zé.Is the owner of the camp and also instructor of Surf and Yoga.He practices surf for more than 25 years and was qualified to teach by ISA.(International Surfing Association).As a yoga instructor he was formed and graduated by the teachers of Narayana Yoga school and later on opened a yoga school, "Casa Hanuman",close to the beach,that way he can continue to surf. Soon he began to feel that yoga and surf are very similar and complement very well each other,so he just decided to combine these two passions creating a third one,the West Coast Surf Camp,where he can share all the good things that surf and yoga brought to his life,while he is living the dream.
Rui Estrela.Is our Pró photographer.Rui is that kind of persons which is always well with life.A traveler by nature and a seeker by vocation.Between other things he decided to help people pass difficult phases of life through emotional coaching.Rui is a good bodyborder and a crazy photographer always putting himself in extreme situations to get "the perfect shot".He can not conceived his life without love and art and this gave him a creative sensibility typical of the greatest artists.Having Rui in our staff make us very happy.
José Cruz.BodyBoard instructor and the head coach of the instructors.He is an BodyBoard from the old school,but that does not mean that all the new maneuvers and tricks are not part of his vast repertoire,however large pipes and hollow waves are its preference and where he feels comfortable.Took the course which enables him to teach Bodybord in the F.P.S. (Portuguese Surfing Federation) without thinking in teaching,was the same desire to learn which led him to pratice yoga his great motivation.That desire that makes him a seeker also brought to the camp one of the best BodyBord instructors in Portugal,and a good friend.
Paulo Martins.The Bob Dylan of the West Coast.He is in charge of the concerts and most of the partys in the camp.Paulo also makes surf, bodybord and enjoy send some dives but it´s in music that he finds its expression.Listen to Paulo play the guitar after a day of surfing and a nice dinner it´s a half way to nivana,the other half is brought by a cold beer.
A fluid style is his trademark which can be observed over a board, in his paintings or while he plays guitar.Have the gift to make it appear extremely easy and simple the hardest drop or maneuver,typical of the great surfers.
Accredited by the I.S.A.,is not a full time instructor,yet we´re thrilled to have him collaborating with the camp.
