Is this the Future? Or is already the present?? Call me an old man but feel the sand in my feet, must understand the winds and tides to catch good waves and the fact of Mother Nature never repeat herself, so always waves are different even in spots like J-Bay, is the reason why i like to surf. Otherwise i´ll play soccer. I belive that surfing in a swimming pool must be a good crazy experience, but once or two times.
Now, the investiment to make such enterprise justifies that experience? Even if experienced twice for all the human beings? It´s the final assumption, the ultimate take charge of capitalism over the destinies of surfing.
The so-called entry of surfing into the Olympic Games is just the carrot shake.
Is surfing prepared to sell his soul, definitely giving up from what characterizes him most deeply, not as a sport but as a way of seeing and beeing in life, by a few bleachers, a few princely salaries to the prĂ³ surfers and new technologies which gradually steal the adventurous spirit of travelling nailing the fervent supporters in front of the computer?
Surfing and soul surfing in its purest form, in the way that we inherited is deep integration with nature, it´s unity.
For me no,thank´s, i´ll keep as i can out of the new NIKE times.
